Using technology to support cooperative learning

Dear friends,
As I browse through the advantages of different types of cooperative learning, I like to share this beautiful paragraph on Making Learning Public : # our learning is public when it is known to others and to ourselves: it is blind when it is known to others but not ourselves:it is hidden when it is known to ourselves but not to others: and it is unconscious when it is not known to ourselves or to others.# pg 6.
What are the trends and issue of cooperative learning where individuals work closely with others on their own learning versus tradition, curriculum-based where learners work for themselves in isolation an do not share their learning in a public form. Friends, what are your thoughts of these?
