According to the lecture notes, "the commentaries identify three occasions for the revival of such ideational [bare-mind-door] processes"
1 - Reflection on direct experience
2 - Reflection on second hand information different from firsthand experience
3 - Reflection on a combination of the two
It seems that the third category would also capture the process resulting from recalling something one had erroneously been told second hand that one had done, but had no direct memory of.
Imagine a man who has passed out drunk awakens to find a bloody knife in hand only to be told by his friend (and the actual murderer) that he had committed the crime.
I can imagine one attempting to "recall" in a case like this first hand experience and adding to it second hand information to attempt to create an accurate recollection.
