Using the common survey and practical case study approach, this course constitutes basic statistics principle and inferential statistics with special reference to the field of education. This course provides the candidates with basic skills to use statistical reasoning in research with special emphases in interpreting statistical results, applying analytical skills using computer software with special reference to SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Several techniques in quantitative research, especially in data collection and sampling, the use of scale testing in research, as well as the techniques in coding data using computers are introduced.
